Michelle Overbury, Facility Manager in LeisureWorld Churchfield
"Having worked for LeisureWorld for the past eleven years, since its inception, I have seen the company grow from strength to strength, with numerous changes along the way, including my own personal development.
I started life at LeisureWorld as an Administrator and I trained as a Duty Manager for the first three years with the company. During this time I was given support and training needed to develop my skills alongside my roles.
An opportunity arose to work with Sales and Marketing after this time and I was delighted when I was given the role and the opportunity to work in promoting the company externally and telling of the excellent services and facilities at LeisureWorld.
After two years my hard work and ability shone through and I was promoted to the Assistant to the Manager, where I worked for two years in a dynamic role, with various opportunities to assist on the development of the company, working on projects and also alongside the Board of Directors.
In 2005, LeisureWorld took over the running of the new facility in Churchfield and I welcomed the opportunity to undertake this exciting step to become the Facility Manager of LeisureWorld Churchfield. A role that has seen me develop along with my team. We have had a very exciting three years and I personally feel that building relationships with our loyal customer base and my team has been a wonderful experience."
Aylenne Moloney, Facility Manager at LeisureWorld Bishopstown
"I commenced employment with LeisureWorld doing work experience in 2002, I gained a valuable insight into the Leisure Industry and from the experience gained I started working as a Receptionist on a part time basis whilst studying at college. From this experience I fell in love with LeisureWorld.
After leaving college I continued to work in LeisureWorld on a full-time basis as a Receptionist and gained experience and training in customer care, administration, database, website design etc. The training and experience gained gave me the confidence to move into the Swim Administrator role where my competencies were focused on and I developed and grew, I also gained my swim teaching qualification.
The position of Company Administrator arose, I was keen to progress and welcomed the opportunity to become more involved in working across both the Bishopstown and Churchfield sites. As my talents for this position were recognised within Leisureworld I was promoted to Administrative Supervisor with more training and development and of course responsibility.
More recently I have been given the greatest opportunity of my career and did an Award in first line management and then went onto do a Certificate in first line management where I progressed into my new exciting position of Senior Duty Manager which will I am sure stretch my abilities and bring me into a new phase at Leisureworld.
I have thoroughly enjoying working for LeisureWorld and the constant opportunities that have arise for training, development and progression."
