LeisureWorld Summer Camps
Safety of Children is number one priority!
Safety has always been our number one priority for all LeisureWorld Camps that are held in Bishopstown or Churchfield. Our normal operating procedures coupled with our child protection guidelines encourages our staff to bring out the best in the children they look after, enabling them to have the maximum amount of fun in the safest possible environment we can create.
We will NOT compromise child safety in LeisureWorld.
The Consumers' Association of Ireland (CAI) has recently warned that the absence of national standards also means that there is nothing to stop anyone printing off fliers and setting up a camp without any guarantee of quality. The onus is totally on parents to ensure camps are properly run, said CAI chairman James Doorley.
"There are two issues here -- one is as a consumer, are you getting what you pay for," he asked. "And the other is how well are they run and are children adequately looked after?
LeisureWorld staff are all fully trained with regards to running and dealing with children in camps – and they have the added advantage of management staff on site that are AED and occupational first aid qualified – therefore providing back up to the camp leaders at all times.
LeisureWorld has systems in place to ensure the safety of all children in our camps.
At the start of every camp the LeisureWorld camp leader will address the camp as a whole to talk through ALL safety issues. Every LeisureWorld leader is then responsible for their own group during the week will ensure that safety is not compromised.
Each leader will keep a group attendance form, with a list of the children in his/her group. This form is used to sign in and out children for the rest of the week. The duty manager will monitor the overall sign in/out procedure. Children will always be supervised when taking water / bathroom breaks.
Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to leave camp unattended.
