LeisureWorld Supports Cork City Lord Mayor and Bord Gáis Chief Executive to ‘Feel the Difference’ at the 2010 Cork City Marathon
LeisureWorld Cork offered to train two of Cork’s leading men as they take up the challenge
to run in the 2010 Cork City Marathon - Cork City Council Lord Mayor Cllr. Dara Murphy and Bord Gáis Chief Executive Mr John Mullins as they prepare to run in the relay event of the marathon.
This year at the post marathon reception, Bord Gáis Chief Executive John Mullins challenged the Lord Mayor to race against him over the first leg of the 2010 Cork City Marathon in return for continued sponsorship of the Bord Gáis Energy Cork City Marathon 2010!
LeisureWorld have come on board to prepare the two competitors, with the Lord Mayor training out of LesiureWorld Churchfield, and John Mullins training out of LeisureWorld Bishopstown. With now only 40 weeks left to the 2010 marathon it’s time for everyone to start their training!!
The public will be able to follow the training diary of both runners through the LeisureWorld website blogs (www.Leisureworldcork.com), and they will also be keeping everyone up to date through Twitter.
Christine Moloney, Chief Executive of LeisureWorld said that the “The Cork City
Marathon is a fantastic event for the city each year, and it’s great to help motivate people to get out there and feel the difference that a healthy lifestyle choice can make. It is also a great way for everyone to participate in supporting the numerous charities that are involved. The option of entering a relay team is a great incentive for people at all levels of fitness and experience to get involved and we’re delighted to be to be involved in the training and coaching of two of Cork’s leading businessmen”
“LeisureWorld has enjoyed our involvement in the Cork City Marathon and our partnership with Cork City Council since the first year of the event and we look forward to the continuous growth & success of the marathon in 2010.” continued Mark McManus Health and Wellness Manager of LeisureWorld Bishopstown.
The Bord Gáis Energy Cork City Marathon will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 7th June 2010 and is supported by Cork City Council who are committed to growing the event to become one of the major events in the Irish sporting calendar.
