LeisureWorld Lifeguards Represent Ireland in National Pool Lifeguarding Championships in Birmingham
A team of lifeguards from LeisureWorld Cork have proved they are amongst the best in Ireland & England by being the only Republic of Ireland representatives for the second consecutive year at the National Pool Lifeguarding Finals in Birmingham on the 28th Nov 2009.
The event is designed to showcase the high skill level of some of the England and Ireland’s pool lifeguards, and to test and reward their leadership, fitness, rescue and lifeguarding abilities.
Representing Ireland shows how serious LeisureWorld takes guarding the waters in all their pools in Cork City. The recent tragic deaths in pools in both Ireland and England highlight how important it is to have pools that are guarded with the highest quality staff available. LeisureWorld achieves this on all their sites through continued training and development of their lifeguarding staff and ensuring there are qualified lifeguards on pool deck during all sessions in the pool.
The LeisureWorld team consisted of 3 male & 3 female lifeguards. The Lifeguards are chosen for the team on the basis of their physical fitness, first aid and pool safety skills & knowledge. The team having been undergoing rigorous training both in and out of the water since April 09.
Christine Moloney, CEO of LeisureWorld believes that “Each lifeguard is a guardian of the water and here in LeisureWorld, we take the safety of all our customers very seriously. Our representation at the Championship is critical for customer confidence to ensure your safety while you swim”
