LeisureWorld are re-launching their Lifesaving Courses and introducing a programme called the Rookie Lifeguard, based on a programme from the Royal Lifesaving Society. The aim of the Rookie programme is to prepare the Rookies to take better care of themselves, their family and friends and to give them the information they need to promote water safety in their day to day activities.

Kids course duration is 10 weeks.

Adult course duration is 8 weeks.

Cost per course is €74

The target kids age is 8-12 years and there are three stages.. Bronze, Silver and Gold, which are each split into three levels (eg; Bronze level 1, Bronze level 2, Bronze level 3)
Upon completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels and becoming a Rookie Lifeguard there are many additional courses that LeisureWorld can offer, such as: Bronze Medallion, RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Extended Life Support, Occupational First Aid to name a few. Rookie Lifeguard is open to all children that can swim. Each child will develop skills and knowledge in water safety, rescue, and resuscitation and lifesaving skills.

LeisureWorld Bishopstown held an information night on Monday 27th February to give parents and kids information on the new and exciting course and give them an opportunity to ask questions.  This was a very successful evening which also showcased the new “Rookie Lifeguard” T-shirts and other goodies the participants of the course will receive.
